The best kitchens are rarely created by one person alone.
They come together when creative thinking is supported by practical expertise. When ideas are carried through carefully, the kitchen simply works for years to come.
That is why we were so pleased to welcome Lucy Carse from Twin Palms Design Studio to our workshop and showroom.
During her visit, we walked through current projects in the workshop and talked about how cabinetry moves from drawing to finished piece.
From the moment we met, it felt like a natural fit. As family-run businesses, we both take the time to understand the people we design for and how they live. We share the belief that good kitchen design should improve daily life, not just the way a room looks.
When good design is built properly, you feel the difference every day.
If you are already working with an interior designer, like Lucy, we are always happy to collaborate.
We work closely with designers to refine layouts, prepare detailed cabinetry drawings, and manage manufacturing and installation so the finished kitchen reflects the original vision.
A fresh approach to interior design

Lucy founded Twin Palms Design Studio after a career as a corporate lawyer in London. Today, she combines clear thinking with a strong understanding of how spaces affect the way we feel.
Her work is rooted in design psychology and sensory awareness. Rather than focusing on trends, she looks at how a home supports you on busy days, overwhelming days and everything in between.
As Lucy explains:
“I design for people who want a calmer home, a more expressive home, and a space that finally matches who they’ve grown into, not Pinterest perfection or tastefully bland interiors.”
She pays close attention to atmosphere as well as layout. How a room flows. Where light falls. How colour and texture shape your mood. Practical decisions are made with real life in mind, including family routines, storage needs and the everyday realities most glossy images leave out.
It feels personal rather than styled. As Lucy describes it, the aim is “quietly cinematic design that feels delicious to live in.”
Working with an interior designer on your bespoke kitchen

You might already be working with an interior designer. Or you may be thinking about speaking to someone like Lucy before starting your kitchen renovation.
Beginning with a designer often means stepping back first. You explore how you want your kitchen to feel, how you use the space each day, and what you would like to change. That early thinking helps you feel confident before anything is built.
Once the direction is clear, we take it forward. The bespoke kitchen design is then developed in detail, with drawings prepared and cabinetry manufactured in our workshop. Installation is managed carefully, and we remain available once everything is in place.
Many projects also begin with us. In those cases, we guide the same journey from the outset. We sit with you, talk through your ideas, shape the layout, and carry the project through from first sketch to final fitting.
There is no right or wrong way to approach it. What matters is that you feel clear and comfortable as your kitchen takes shape.
As our director, Matthew says:
“At the end of the day, you want it to feel right. We take the ideas you’ve worked through with your interior designer and turn them into something solid and lasting in your home.”
Lucy’s Interior Design Services

Lucy works with clients locally in Norfolk and across the UK, offering both in-person and digital design support.
Her approach is rooted in design psychology and clarity. Whether she is working on a single room or shaping the wider feel of a home, she starts in the same place. How do you want the space to feel, and how do you actually live in it?
Her services range from focused clarity sessions to full interior design packages. This can include layout planning, visual concepts, guidance on materials and lighting, and considered styling. The aim is not simply to make a room look good, but to create a space that feels calm and personal to the people living there.
Lucy has lived in Thorpe St Andrew since moving to Norfolk with her family after Covid and is proud to be part of the local community, alongside her husband, two children and a household of devoted Norwich City supporters.
We are looking forward to working more closely with Twin Palms Design Studio on future projects across Norfolk, combining clear design thinking with careful making and fitting.
